03/09/2008 @ 13:30
Major hotel chain Marriott International will be increasing the value of Caribbean property by opening a series of new sites in the region.
New hotels will be built at locations including Paramaribo on the Caribbean coast of Suriname, in San Pedro Sula on the Caribbean coast of Honduras, and at Port of Spain in Trinidad. The new developments will be built to appeal to high-end tourists, and will offer high speed internet connections and flat-screen televisions amongst the usual amenities. Owners of Caribbean investment property near each location will be happy to hear of the new projects.
Ed Fuller, president and managing director of international lodging for Marriott International, told finchannel.com: "We are excited by the range of travel experiences these properties will represent and that, with the exception of the Courtyard hotel in Suriname, all are additional properties in countries in which we are already operating".
The expanded presence of the Marriott brand in the Caribbean is likely to stimulate each local economy as tourist numbers increase. Buyers with Caribbean property in the region will experience more consistent rental yields as their homes increase in value.
