Caribbean coast of Honduras favoured by Hollywood royalty

Honduras is experiencing a Caribbean property surge, in part due to enthusiasm from Hollywood royalty, reports jewishexponent.com.
Stars such as Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are known to favour Pico Benito in La Ceiba on the country's Caribbean coastline, while the nation's rustic charm and environmentally-conscious attitude is turning it into a leading tourist destination.
Flavia Cueva, owner of Hacienda San Lucas resort near Copan Ruinas, told jewishexponent.com: "People who come here are looking for some authenticity, culture and spirituality. They are people who have everything, but welcome the simplicity of the rooms and appreciate the earthy qualities of the food. It brings them to a whole different reality."
The country offers a wide range of different cultural experiences that are appealing to a global cross-section of visitors. Less developed areas offer canopy tours and stunning botanical gardens, while the cities offer indigenous art for the eagle-eyed tourist.
The new appeal of Honduras is leading to new tourist resorts in locations such as Nikki Beach, which will directly benefit overseas property investors.
