Monarch begins flights to Caribbean
21/11/2008 @ 11:59

Owners of luxury Caribbean property will be boosted by the news that Monarch Airlines is to step in to the gap left by stricken flight company XL.

The airline will take over XL Airways old route between Gatwick and the Caribbean, serving Tobago and Grenada once a week from next month.

Monarch commercial director David Mortimer expressed his pleasure at being able to offer the new route.

"We are delighted that we have been able to secure, at relatively short notice, an aeroplane to fill the void left by the failure of XL and provide essential airlift to the islands of Tobago and Grenada.

“It was important to re-establish these services as quickly as possible and, in anticipation of more stabilised market conditions, we are confident that holidaymakers will find that this new service is one that they can have complete faith in."

An Airbus A330 will offer 307 economy and 51 premium economy seats from December 17th, departing London Gatwick at 9:30am and arriving in the sunny Caribbean in mid-afternoon.
