Barbados river project progressing nicely
13/11/2008 @ 18:44

The beatification of Bridgetown's Constitution River is progressing nicely, according to Barbados Tourism Investment acting chief executive officer Charles Holder.

Mr Holder told Nation News that a significant portion of the riverbed had been dredged, which will allow more sea water to flow in.

The River Road Redevelopment Project, which also involves the opening of a new bridge and the re-routing of a sewer mains will help boost the appeal of luxury property in Barbados.

Additionally, the project includes the construction of new landscaped embankments, complete with lighting that will make an evening stroll along the river more pleasant.

In a further boost to tourism on the island, a new condominium hotel is being built on the southwest coast.

The Ocean Two development will have six floors with a total of 72 self-contained units and is expected to open for business in 2010.
