Bahamas tourism minister encourages business visits
20/11/2008 @ 13:46

Investors in luxury property in the Bahamas could be in line for a boost after positive talks between tourism minister Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace and business stakeholders in China.

Mr Vanderpool-Wallace wants to open up the islands to Chinese businesses as a location for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE events), according to the Bahama Journal.

It follows the visit to the Caribbean of Chinese president Hu Jintao, who recently met with Cuban leader Raul Castro to discuss trade between the eastern nation and the Caribbean.

The tourism minister will be looking to boost visitor numbers to the Bahamas and will likely use the new Kerzner International convention centre facilities as an incentive for businesses.

The Bahamas is an idyllic destination in which to conduct business. When not in the numerous convention centres or meeting rooms, delegates can enjoy fishing, golf, diving and boat tours.

The islands are extremely well connected, with flights to many of the west's major cities.

If Mr Vanderpool-Wallace's trip to China is a success, owners of luxury Bahamian property could see the benefits in the coming years.
